| Article number: kb-17 | Q. When I transfer my domain, will it interfere with my current hosting account?
A. No, when you transfer a domain to our registration service, your name servers cannot be changed until after the transfer is completed. The only information you can change is the contact information. You will experience no downtime during a transfer and your current web hosting provider will not even know you transferred it unless they are your registrar.
However if you are transferring your domain and hosting package at the same time there can be a small interruption of service as the Nameservers update to point to your new hosting location.
This can happen anytime you move your hosting package.
